Alimosho General Hospital is a secondary health care institution dedicated to providing affordable services to the citizens of Lagos State, which was established under the purview of Health Service Commission on February 12th, 2006.
Situated on a land scale of 231.6m by 290.53 on KM 4, Isheri/ LASU road in the Alimosho suburban region of Lagos State. Its topography spreads from the Isheri /LASU road anchoring some parts of the Idimu/Ikotun axis.
Its existence sprung up from the need to alleviate the pains of the General ailing patients within the Alimosho settlements of Lagos State. It is focused at serving patients from Egbe , Ikotun , Ijegun , Igando , Egan , LASU road, Isheri, Egbeda , Baruwa , Iyana Ipaja, Idimu and Ejigbo environments. These are densely populated communities of the State, which often require constant subsidized health care administrations to even up Lagos’s dream of Megacity in all its settlements.
As a Government Establishment, Alimosho General Hospital kick started its operations with 10 personnel spearheaded by Dr.Bolaji Adebiyi as the Medical Director. It was however, commissioned in March 2006 by the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State; Mrs Adejoke Orelope – Adefulire , former Commmisioner of Health; Dr. Leke Pitan , Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health ; Dr.Jide idris, Former Permanent Secretary Health Service Commission; Dr. Mrs. Rofiat Olatunji , Former Director of Medical Service ; Dr. Shittu and former Chairman of Igando / Ikotun Local Council Development Area; Alhaji Jimoh Ajao.
To exert its existence on its environ, service time at the Hospital ran through 6pm daily. This fostered patronage in these populated communities whilst impacting positively in the health standard of Lagos State’s genre.
